Marble Floor Polishing

We recently moved into a house with Black Marble floors. They have scratching and (http://maplered.com) are not shiny in high traffic areas.  We had a Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) restoration guy look at the floors and (http://maplered.com) to refinish is very expensive....  I think I would rather replace the floor.  However, is there any benefit to be gained by buffing the floor?  Has anyone done this and (http://maplered.com) can recommend a good process?
